The Class' logo for the project was drawn by Yadji and Mehdi.

The idea of broken chains stems from all the students of the class.

What does it symbolize to them?

Hello ! My name is Yadji and I created the logo of the 2nde E with Mehdi . In fact, the idea was to represent a picture symbolizing the aboliton of slavery because this events is very important in our history let alone the most important.

When we hear the word "slavery", we see chains which break.

What does it symbolize to you?

A few weeks later......

ON FEBRUARY 14, 2003....

at Prêcheur (inaugurated on May 22 2002),

on our way to The Céron Plantation.

As this is quite a new monument, the students had not seen it before drawing their own logo, and the similarity is striking.

The monument itself was designed from children's drawings and representations of the concept of FREEDOM.
